1. Scholarship Program
When we set up the continuing education program with your school, we provide, in conjunction with the program, an ongoing way to fund scholarships to your local community college. This has a two-fold benefit. Other than International education, another component for admission to undergraduate and post-graduate schools and employment by major corporations is documented public service. Studies prove that a person who volunteers usually makes a dedicated and contributing alumni and a great employee. The idea is that to give to others, you often have to have your own house in order. It is considered documentation that you have good organizational skills, time management and team playing abilities. By participating in "Building Futures through Global Education” you can help prepare for globalization at the same time helping volunteerism. While your school can develop or raise funds for any of your own scholarship programs, a scholarship program that is geared to volunteerism will go a long way toward fulfilling this educational component. Students may qualify for this scholarship by performing volunteer service. And, for example, each group traveling abroad (one full coach with 48 passengers) can raise four $500 scholarships, and, with matching corporate sponsorship you could double this number. These are scholarships that feed into the local community colleges and are based solely on students’ volunteer hours. So, the good news is that you can help others by learning at the same time! This is an example of the type of program you can develop according to your school’s needs. |
