3. Travel Participants ("Students")
Who are the Core Students for this Program? 1. High School students who are trying to improve their resume to apply for college. Traveling with their parents enables them to both prepare for their future and spend quality time away from the pressures of daily life in an environment that is condusive to getting to know each other again. 2. College students who are trying to improve their resume in anticipation of moving into the corporate world. Every International experience is an indication of comfort and sophifistication in the global society that is a plus for an employer who wants someone who possesses a passport and can hit the ground running. 3. Members of the Academy for Lifetime Learning and other Continuing Education programs directed at senior citizen groups who enjoy traveling in a safe environment. (The Academy is designed to meet the needs of area senior adults by providing a learning environment of continued personal and intellectual growth.) 4. Teachers who need to broaden their International experience for their personal enrichment and career enrichment. 5. Members of the Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and other service organization who can travel abroad with their spouses and want to raise scholarship funds for their local high school or college 6. Friends and relatives who want to go along on these trips Student Benefits The Student benefits from this experience may include: 1. Obtaining an international education component that is required by many of the top and/or ivy-league colleges and post-graduate institutions 2. Exposing the student to new cultures, ideas and ways of life that will supplement their experience for utilization in the workforce and global marketplace 3. Allowing the student the opportunity to meet new people and expand their circle of friendship 4. "Give Back" by participating in a program that raises funds for scholarships Student Requirements The Student is responsible the following: 1. Registering for the trip 2. Registering and paying tuition for the class 3. Completing and providing all forms, releases and additional paperwork necessary for trip 4. Attending the two, 2-3 hour classes 5. Attending the trip |
