Valdez by Car is an eight-night tour roundtrip from Anchorage with stops in Valdez, Glennallen, Fairbanks and Denali. In Valdez, visit a tidewater glacier on the Columbia Glacier cruise. Time in Glennallen can be used to venture into the Wrangell St. Elias National Park. The main park visitor center is just 10 miles south of Glennallen. In Fairbanks, a tour to Gold Dredge No. 8 includes an opportunity to pan for gold and a traditional miner's lunch. After dropping off the car, a McKinley Explorer train takes you to Denali National Park. Glennallen - Fairbanks: 249 miles : Travel north to Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway. Enjoy lovely views of Summit Lake inches away from the road. Also, don't miss Rainbow Ridge about halfway into your drive! Overnight Fairbanks.
Fairbanks : Today, visit historic Gold Dredge No. 8 to pan for gold and enjoy a hearty miner's lunch. Before returning your rental car today, explore Fairbanks with optional tours. Overnight Fairbanks. (L)

Denali
Fairbanks - Denali: 125 miles : This morning, we'll transfer you to the rail station, where you'll board the luxurious railcars of the McKinley Explorer. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore the park. Overnight Denali.
Denali - Anchorage: 239 miles : Watch for bear, moose, caribou and Dall sheep on the Natural History Tour that takes you into Denali National Park. Then board the McKinley Explorer railcars for your journey to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage.
Anchorage : We'll transfer you to the airport, where your journey ends.
